GREETINGS FROM BEAUTIFUL MONTANA ON NOVEMBER 11, 2013!

I've put together the latest in my music news to share with you . . . Thanks for staying in touch via e-news and Facebook (Fans and Friends of Judy Fjell).  Here are a few pics from a recent hike up Crown Butte. It's a laccolith (what's that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laccolith) one of the geological wonders of Montana. (See more on my Facebook page)

1. GOIN' OVER HOME CD NEWS

Goin' Over Home CD sales have been great at the release concerts. I've also received lots of orders at www.judyfjell.com and am in the process of placing the CD in many stores in Montana. Montanans, please check these places to buy them locally. Support your local music stores!

Missoula - Rockin' Rudy's, Morgenroth Music, Ear Candy, and Hastings

Helena - Birds and Beasleys, Aunt Bonnie's, Piccolo's Music, and Hastings

Bozeman - Cactus Records and Hastings Music

Livingston - Conley's Books and Music

Big Timber - Hoping to place them at Crazy Woman Trading, Cinnabar Creek soon

Responses to Goin' Over Home have been overwhelmingly positive. I am so grateful that many of you have shared your response via email or in person. During the year and a half that I worked on the CD I didn't know how it would "fly." But I am being affirmed regularly. Quite a few of you have said you put the CD on in the car or at home and then just hit "repeat." Others have ordered multiple copies for holiday gifts. Many of you have taken time to tell me how deeply the emotional content of the songs and the arrangements has touched you. Thank you. All of your words live with me as I share these songs in performances and as I begin arranging and writing new pieces.

Reviews of Goin' Over Home by professional reviewers are going well, too. Here is the link for the substantive and favorable review I received in Lively Times and State of the Arts (the Montana Arts Council news). http://livelytimes.com/montana-music-entertainment/articles/category/music-cds/

Goin' Over Home on CDBaby, iTunes, and more! It was a bit of a process to be sure that all the information for royalties, etc. was correct so that it CDBaby could place Goin' Over Home with their outlets, but I just received an email saying that all should be in place in the next few days. This means that this new CD will be available on Amazon, Spotify, Rhapsody, Google Music, Facebook and other retail outlets. My next step is to make it available to Pandora. When that happens, I will send out another e-news asking you, my fans, to request your favorite Goin' Over Home cuts on Pandora. More on that later. . .

2. HOW TO SAVE MONEY ON MULTIPLE JUDY FJELL CDs at www.judyfjell.com

My biggest YouTube hit - "Drill, Baby, Drill" Let's add another 1,000 hits!

Periodically over the past few years I've been placing videos on YouTube. The one with the most hits (5,014) is "Drill Baby Drill" by the Drill, Kill, and Bailout Team. You might recognize members in this one-time, one-hit wonder band.

There are quite a few videos up now featuring me and/or friends. Some are listed under judyfjell and some under Judy Fjell. Ah, the mysteries of YouTube. If you'd like to subscribe to my YouTube videos, I'm researching the exact directions. I'm sure it's easy to do, but I'll try to be more specific in my next e-news. If anyone out there knows exactly how it's done, please email me and I'll pass it on . . .

4. SKYPE LESSONS WITH JUDY FJELL

People have been asking for quite a while about taking guitar, voice, or ukulele lessons with me on Skype. In October I set up Skype lessons with one of my voice students from Puget Sound Guitar Workshop last summer. It has been fun, satisfying, and edifying. Skype is a very interesting and successful medium for lessons. If you're interested in setting something up, email me at judyfjell@mac.com or call (406)930-1650. Skype lessons are $40/hour. See Private Lessons at the store at www.judyfjell.com. Payment can be made via check or PayPal.
